„I’LL NEVER WANNE BE A PHOTOGRAPHER.“
That was my answer to every question related to my future job situation. I thought taking pictures of people is way too boring to earn my money with. Well, that was before I started studying…
Now, after six semesters of Digital Mediaproduction, my opinion on being a photographer took a drastic turn. How did that happen?
It’s actually quite easy: You combine a kreative, quite energetic kid with a kamera and its grandfathers workshop and let it go to a university. Soon it will discover how varied the media industry acutally is. Let it experience the truly enthusiastic reactions of poeple seeing their pictures for the first time. That’s how you get a photographer and that’s how I discoverd my passion.
To be creative and use your hands to build art that’s consumed mostly in the virtual life. What an interesting situation, isn’t it?
how do i work?
Even though I like working on a laptop from time to time, I always love beeing in the middle of the adventure. I am a handy person, so I’d always prefer creating with my own hands.
Corona showed me, how fulfilling it can be to have the possibiliy to switch between homeoffice and an actual workplace.
During my time at the university, I learned how to work with different people on different projects and still finish them successfully. I prefer working in teams, because the motivation is usually higher.
Good communication is the heart of every work situation. I’ve seen how bad communication can break even the most harmonic teams. I try to grow on criticism and don’t want to aks myself whether I did good or bad. Honesty and clear messages are indispensable.
I enjoy being in direct contact with the clients. The personal connection is very important to me. Motivation the feeling of being useful is what I get, whenever I can be helpful.
Due to the variety of porjects I’ve done in the past, I’m used to different work hours. Even to work more than usual is no problem for me, as long as I don’t have to take the work home with me.
In my freetime I love making stuff by myself, let it be cooking, gardening, building or sewing. A huge garden is my biggest dream.
Another hobby is social dancing. Salsa, Bachata and Rock’n’Roll are my favourites.
Photography belongs to the list aswell. I take my camera to all of my watersport-adventures.
I’m commited to fairness, bodypositivity, environmental + animal protection and LGBTQ+.
i usually prefer dogs but in this case the winner is obviously:
The Brontosaurus.
